## Attribution to retain with copies

Picture with an Archer (1909), Wassily Kandinsky, MoMA. Photograph by **yakovlev.alexey (Dr. Alexey Yakovlev)**, [Flickr](https://www.flickr.com/photos/botalex/25049633126/), via [Wikimedia Commons](https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Vasily_Kandinsky._Picture_with_an_Archer_(1909)_(25049633126).jpg), licensed [CC BY-SA 2.0](https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.0/). Photograph unretouched; scaled with restrained camera framing. Image adaptations remain CC BY-SA 2.0. Keep this credit and license link when distributing the video. This does not relicense the presenters’ original recordings or imply museum endorsement. The photo license is not a blanket worldwide license of the underlying painting; museum record retains an ARS/ADAGP notice. The audit uses the licensed image candidate expressly identified in the brief and does not claim universal public-domain status.

## Accuracy and exclusions

### Revision 2 — ten additional authentic artworks

The accompanying `artwork-credits.json` is the complete 16-entry asset manifest,
including artist, title, year, collection, factual URL, image URL, direct download,
license, attribution, changes and local filename. No AI replacements are used.

- Art Institute of Chicago: Kandinsky, [Houses at Murnau, 1909](https://www.artic.edu/artworks/129849) and [Improvisation No. 30 (Cannons), 1913](https://www.artic.edu/artworks/8991); Marc, [The Bewitched Mill, 1913](https://www.artic.edu/artworks/9021); Munch, [The Girl by the Window, 1893](https://www.artic.edu/artworks/154235); Van Gogh, [The Bedroom, 1889](https://www.artic.edu/artworks/28560); Gauguin, [Day of the God, 1894](https://www.artic.edu/artworks/27943). Museum public-domain flags verified through its API. The images actually used are public-domain reproductions independently published on Wikimedia Commons; exact file links are in the manifest. The museum image host returned an access challenge and was not bypassed.
- Lenbachhaus, Munich: Marc, [Tiger, 1912](https://www.lenbachhaus.de/digital/sammlung-online/detail/tiger-30019617); Macke, [Promenade, 1913](https://www.lenbachhaus.de/digital/sammlung-online/detail/promenade-30021116) and [Milliner’s Shop (Hutladen), 1913](https://www.lenbachhaus.de/digital/sammlung-online/detail/hutladen-30021123). Museum downloads explicitly marked CC0 1.0. All three: Bernhard und Elly Koehler Stiftung 1965.
- Kirchner, [Self-Portrait as a Soldier, 1915](https://allenartcollection.oberlin.edu/objects/3758/selfportrait-as-a-soldier), Allen Memorial Art Museum, Charles F. Olney Fund, 1950.29. [Wikimedia Commons public-domain reproduction](https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Kirchner_-_Self_Portrait_as_a_Soldier_(1915).jpg). The imagined amputated hand is symbolic, not a literal injury; the video states this distinction.
- Münter: a suitably licensed artwork image was not verified. Her section uses her name and descriptive text, not a misattributed image. Lenbachhaus's Portrait of Marianne von Werefkin carries a VG Bild-Kunst notice; Art Institute candidates were not marked public domain. Those images were not downloaded.

The three earlier influences are identified as precursors, not members of the German
Expressionist groups. New images are shown whole with a 4% scale progression. The
opening detail crop of Marc's mill is labeled; its whole image appears later.

- Kirchner label follows MoMA: 1908, reworked 1919; MoMA also notes the painting is inscribed 1907. The spoken 1908 date is preserved.
- Schiele’s selected work is a 1914 **drypoint**, from a portfolio published in 1922—not an oil painting.
- The Met’s Bathers Throwing Reeds image explicitly prohibits download/enlargement; it was not downloaded. The NGA public-domain Port Scene woodcut was used instead.
- No AI-generated artwork replacements, personal-browser access, invented narration or synthetic voice. Both presenters appear using their supplied footage. No music licenses needed; no music is added.
- Arial is a system-rendered font on the current macOS host; no font binaries redistributed.
